Ethically Bred, Responsibly Raised Miniature Schnauzer Puppies in the Cincinnati, OH / Northern Kentucky Area
About Me
Living in New York City as a nanny, I was looking for a travel sized companion that was family friendly and shed minimally. After researching several breeds, the Miniature Schnauzer stood out to me for its unique personality and its distinguished good looks. I fell in love with my first mini, Theo, thus laying the foundation for my passion in breeding family oriented, ethically bred Miniature Schnauzers with exceptional demeanors.
I am now located in the Northern Kentucky / Cincinnati, OH region. My puppies are raised on a spacious 17 acre property, providing them plenty of space to run and play as they prepare to go to their forever homes. Cultivating friendly, outgoing personalities in my schnauzers is a priority. They tend to thrive when included in family activities - and I want you to WANT to include them!
Committed to Health and Transparency
Each miniature schnauzer parent has been genetically screened using Embark to test their genetic make up for any hereditary conditions that may be passed on to their litters. This testing ensures that only the healthiest individuals are being bred to parent the next generation. If you have any questions regarding Embark or would like to request a health report of any parent, please ask!
I am currently in the process of getting OFA / CHIC Certifications for each of my breeding parents - just another level of health guarantee for my adopters. As part of this certification process, potential parents undergo various health screenings specific to their breed. The results of these screenings are then entered into a public database, allowing responsible breeders to make more informed breeding decisions. This information is also accessible to the public at large, allowing potential puppy buyers to view the results as well. CHIC certification is a good indicator that the breeder factors good health into their selection criteria and makes responsible decisions when choosing which dogs should be chosen to produce future generations. To see what screenings Miniature Schnauzers undergo for this certification, please visit https://ofa.org/chic-programs/browse-by-breed/?breed=MSC. And once again, if you have any questions, please reach out!
About the Miniature Schnauzer
The Miniature Schnauzer was developed in Germany making it a unique terrier breed. While most terriers were developed in the British Isles, the Miniature Schnauzer has exclusive origins in Germany. Miniature Schnauzers were recognized as a distinct breed in 1899, and have been among the top 20 most popular breeds in the United States since their arrival in 1925. The Miniature Schnauzer is the smallest of the three schnauzer breeds. Bred down from their larger cousins, the Standard Schnauzer, the mini was created to be a pint sized, sturdy farm dog, helping to keep vermin like rats under control. They are tough and fearless, without being aggressive. Miniature Schnauzers are incredibly intelligent, ranked 12th out of 140 dog breeds by Stanley Coren in his book, The Intelligence of Dogs. This makes them highly trainable, albeit stubborn at times. Small enough to adapt to apartment life and tireless enough to run acres of farmland, the Miniature Schnauzer can thrive in either a rural or an urban setting. They are incredibly family oriented and are fiercely loyal to their pack members. The Miniature Schnauzer’s friendly demeanor, portable size, and minimal shedding make it an ideal family dog. Not to mention, they look rather dapper with their beards and brows!
